Appellations of origin and geographical indications
WE PROTECT MANUFACTURERS OR PRODUCERS THAT ARE DEDICATED TO THE EXTRACTION, PRODUCTION OR PRODUCT ELABORATION
According to IMF figures, Mexico is the second largest economy in Latin America, with a GDP of 1.3 billion dollars. Mexican products have preferential access to a market of more than 1.54 million consumers around the world.
Therefore, in Saucedo Rodríguez y Saucedo, we are also interested in comprehensively protecting all those people, chambers or associations of manufacturers or producers who dedicate their time and effort in activities such as the extraction, production or product elaboration and that require advice, protection and defense of the rights enshrined through figures such as the Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications.
Moreover, our firm supports our clients who directly dedicate themselves to the extraction, production or product elaboration protected by appellations of origin or geographical indications; or that carry out such activities within the protected territory or geographical area such as appellations of origin or geographical indications, to carry out the pertinent procedures regarding the authorizations to use them and contracts related to their exploitation.
Additionally, our team offers full and comprehensive support from the authorization management before the Regulatory Councils, label review, procedures before COFEPRIS and all those related to the IMPI.
Currently, Mexico has 16 products grown or made in Mexico whose protection is born through the Appellations of Origin. It should be noted that all these products are 100% of Mexican origin and are recognized worldwide. Some examples of this are: Tequila, Mezcal, Sotol, Bacanora, Amber of Chiapas, Talavera, Café de Veracruz, Mango Ataulfo del Soconusco de Chiapas, etc.
