His work can be divided into two parts. Edgar advises clients regarding the protection of industrial property rights, specifically by means of litigation related to patents, trademarks and other rights like industrial secrets, sanitary registrations for pharmaceutical products, etc.
Thanks to his technical background, it is possible for him to grasp with accuracy inventions in the fields of construction and mechanics, as well as create legal strategies for the defense of said inventions.
His skill is precisely in defending those rights through actions for annulment, cancellation actions based on non-use, infringement actions and/or criminal actions, before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, Federal Commission for Sanitary Risks, Attorney General's Office, Federal Court for Administrative Justice, District Courts, Circuit Courts and the Supreme Court of Justice.
On the other hand, he also advises clients on all matters related to copyright and related rights. He counsels from independent authors, to companies that have acquired economic rights in copyrights. He implements strategies for acquiring rights, as well as for their defense through administrative, criminal, and arbitration before the National Institute of Copyright, Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, the Attorney General's Office and before the Federal Courts mentioned above.
Edgar has extensive experience with both national and foreign clients whether they are small or large companies. He has particular experience with pharmaceutical, construction, fashion and consumer products, as well as various service industries.
Edgar also participates as a specialist in Intellectual Property for the TV channel Financiero Bloomberg and is Professor of the Master in Project Management and Entrepreneurship at Westhill University.
